Pitfalls of GPR Surveying using GPS

Prior to the elimination of Selective Availability for GPS signals in 2000, the use of GPS tracking for GPR surveys, without the use of costly RTK-DGPS equipment, was essentially impossible due to the large uncertainty in position solutions. As GPS and now multi-constellation GNSS receivers have plummeted in price and complexity, combining GPS and geophysical sensors has become commonplace. Some GPR systems now include integrated GNSS receivers.
